Apache tears (Marekanite) form as rounded pebbles of obsidian or “obsidianites,” a dark-colored natural volcanic glass. Slightly softer than Obsidian due the speckles of Perlite which can make it translucent.
The name “Apache tear” comes from a legend of the Apache Native Americans. in the 1870s, 75 Apaches and the US Cavalry fought on a mountain overlooking Superior, Arizona. Outnumbered and facing defeat, Apache warriors chose to ride off the mountain to their deaths rather than be captured. According to legend, the Apache tribe women mourned day and night for a month after learning of the tragedy with their tears turning to stone upon hitting the ground.
Some believe that those who possess an Apache Tear will never cry again because the Apache women cried enough for all that mourn.

I personally select all my crystals and stones primarily for their shape, colour and the best quality for a competitive. You will receive a specimen very close to the one shown in the picture. Due to variations across digital platforms, the colour you see may differ slightly from the actual stone. Therefore, slight discrepancies are possible.
Each of my specimens comes with its own collector’s card with information on its properties and lore.
