Black Sage smudge stick, tied into a tight bundle 10 cm long for burning or display. Black Sage (Salvia mellifera) also known as “Dream Weed”, is a small, highly aromatic, evergreen shrub. Much stronger than white sage with its robust, minty fragrance, it is used in many ways including Divination, Journeying in the Astral plane and Purification Ceremonies. When burnt before bedtime, it aids in restful sleep and pleasant dreams.
The strong, heavy aroma of Black Sage smudge is thought to have the power to draw your energy and consciousness into other realms. This is an herb of introspection and inner healing.
The Chumash people used a strong cold tea of the leaves and stems of the plant. This was rubbed on painful areas of the body or used to soak one’s feet. The plant contains diterpenoids, such as aethiopinone and ursolic acid, which are pain relievers.
Californian black sage also produces a nectar that black sage honey is made from. This honey is typically peppery and strong and is prized as a rare honey which hints at its other name of the Honey Sage.

How to use
Light the end of the sage stick and allow to smoulder, place above a heat-resistant bowl or shell and gently disperse the smoke throughout the area to dispel negative energies. Fully extinguish after use and keep away from pets and children.
