Lemurian Aquatine Calcite is mined in Argentina. However, Lemurian Aquatine Calcite is a trademarked name create by the author Robert Simmons. The stone is known by many names; Blue Argentinian Calcite, Aquatine Calcite, Aqua Calcite, Argentinian Blue Onyx, Lemurian Onyx, Blue Lemurian Calcite, Ocean Calcite etc. Although Blue Calcite can be found in many parts of the world, the one from Argentina are generally called Lemurian Aquatine Calcite. In crystal healing circles, the name ‘Lemurian Seed Crystal’ is also used.  Some claim ‘seed crystals’ are slightly different from regular lemurian quartz. ‘Lemurian Quartz’ is a trade name that geologists do not recognise.

Lemuria is legendary ancient continent believed to have been in the Indian Ocean. Like Atlantis it is believed to have suffered a traumatic event and was then lost to the oceans

Lemurian Aquatine Calcite connects to the heart, third eye, crown and upper transpersonal chakras. It is said to help deal with negative emotions such as stress, fear, worry and anxiety. Then being able to soothe the emotional body, becoming calm and flow with the emotions. Lemurian Aquatine Calcite is believed to create empathy for others and to be supportive, but not to be embroiled in their emotions.
